Somatic Recoding

Recode
the body.
Rewrite
the pattern.

A ten-day bodywork training on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca. A study of fascia, breath, and the subtle currents beneath, held by René & Atabey.

II. The work

The body keeps the score,
and the body can also rewrite it.

Somatic Recoding is a way of meeting the human being through every layer the yogic tradition names: physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual, blissful. We work in the fascia and on the subtler currents underneath. Not to release a story, but to recode the patterns the body has been holding as truth.

/ five layers

Five sheaths. One being.

01
Annamaya
Physical
Fascia, bone, breath. Touch that listens before it asks.
02
Pranamaya
Energetic
The currents beneath the skin: meridians, prana, the felt sense.
03
Manomaya
Emotional
The feelings the tissue holds when the mind has long moved on.
04
Vijnanamaya
Intellectual
The patterns we were taught are simply who we are.
05
Anandamaya
Bliss
The quiet underneath everything. The state we were recoding toward.

Portrait of René
Co-facilitator

René

René is a somatic practitioner and relational guide specializing in emotional healing and reconnection. As a core facilitator of Somatic Recoding, she brings a grounded, intuitive approach to working with patterns held in the body and within relationships.

With a background in bodywork, trauma-informed yoga, and somatic trauma therapy, she weaves together touch, awareness, and energetic sensitivity to support deep transformation. Her work is informed by time spent in the Peruvian Amazon and the Wirikuta desert in Mexico, where she trained with the Matses tribe and developed a relationship with Kambo as a tool for clearing and clarity.

René is devoted to helping individuals and couples release what no longer serves them and return to a more honest, connected way of being. She is often described as present, attuned, and deeply caring. These are qualities she brings into every space she holds.
