Somatic Recoding™ separates education, recognition, and professional certification. The $111 evergreen course offers an Informed Practitioner badge. The 7-day in-person training offers a Certificate of Completion. Practitioner Certification requires mentorship, practice, case studies, session review, and assessment. Advanced Practitioner eligibility requires additional 1:1 mentorship before entering future advanced training pathways.

The Informed Practitioner badge is a recognition of introductory study. It does not certify you as a Somatic Recoding™ Practitioner, does not authorize use of the Certified Somatic Recoding™ Practitioner title, and does not replace mentorship, practice review, or assessment.

- Review foundational ethics, consent, and scope of practice principles

Outcome
Somatic Recoding™ Foundations Certificate of Completion
This certificate confirms participation and completion of the Foundations Training. It does not certify the student to practice Somatic Recoding™ professionally, advertise themselves as a Certified Somatic Recoding™ Practitioner, or teach the method.

Certified Somatic Recoding™ Practitioner
Available through the Foundation + Practitioner Mentorship path.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the 7-Day Foundations Training.
Requirements
- Complete the 7-day in-person Foundations Training
- Complete the one-month online group mentorship
- Attend at least 3 of 4 weekly group mentorship calls live
- Watch the replay and submit reflections for any missed call
- Complete a minimum of 12 practice sessions outside of class
- Submit 3 written case studies or session reflections
- Submit 2 practice sessions for review
- At least 1 reviewed session should be a recorded session, where appropriate and with written client consent
- At least 1 reviewed session may be a live demonstration, peer practice review, or detailed session debrief
- Maintain a reflection journal during the mentorship period
- Complete all assigned integration exercises
- Demonstrate understanding of ethics, consent, boundaries, contraindications, trauma-informed practice, and scope of practice
- Receive mentor feedback
- Complete a final practitioner assessment
- Receive approval from René & Atabey or the Somatic Recoding™ assessment team

Outcome
Certified Somatic Recoding™ Practitioner
Practitioner Certification is not automatic. It is awarded only when the student demonstrates sufficient competency, maturity, ethical understanding, and readiness to practice.
If additional support is needed, students may be asked to complete extra practice sessions, submit additional reflections, receive further mentorship, or repeat part of the assessment process before certification is granted.

Advanced Practitioner Pathway Preparation
Available through the Foundation + Practitioner + 1:1 Mentorship path.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the 7-Day Foundations Training
- Completion of the Practitioner Mentorship pathway
- Completion of the 1:1 online mentorship prerequisite
Requirements
- Complete all Practitioner Certification requirements
- Complete four private 1:1 online mentorship calls
- Submit at least 2 additional client session reflections for 1:1 mentorship review
- Bring specific client questions, practice challenges, or professional development themes to mentorship
- Receive personalized feedback on practice, facilitation, touch, nervous system tracking, and client communication
- Refine practitioner presence, boundaries, session structure, integration support, and professional positioning
- Identify growth edges and areas for advanced study
- Receive mentor recommendation or readiness review for future Advanced Practitioner Training
Outcome
Preparation and eligibility for future Advanced Practitioner Training
This path does not certify the student as an Advanced Practitioner by itself. It fulfills the required 1:1 mentorship prerequisite and prepares the practitioner to apply for future Advanced Practitioner Training. Advanced Practitioner Certification will require additional advanced training, assessment, case review, and demonstrated competency.

What the advanced path can open.
The 1:1 mentorship pathway is designed for students who want deeper professional refinement and may eventually wish to move into advanced practice, online facilitation, group work, assisting, or teaching. These pathways are not automatic. Each requires additional training, demonstrated competency, ethical maturity, and explicit approval.
Advanced Practitioner Training
Future eligibility to apply for Advanced Practitioner Training, where practitioners deepen their work with complex patterns, advanced touch, nervous system tracking, and layered somatic recoding.
Online Practitioner Authorization
Future eligibility to train in the online application of Somatic Recoding™, including remote nervous system tracking, virtual session structure, online ethics, and working without physical touch.
Group Facilitator Pathway
Future eligibility to train in holding Somatic Recoding™ group sessions, workshops, retreats, and integration containers.
Training Assistant Opportunities
Priority consideration for assisting future Somatic Recoding™ trainings, practice spaces, and student mentorship containers.
Teacher Training Pathway
Future eligibility to apply for Somatic Recoding™ Teacher Training, where experienced practitioners may learn to teach portions of the curriculum, mentor students, and support certification standards.
Advanced, online, group facilitator, assistant, and teacher pathways are future professional development tracks. They require additional approval and are not granted automatically through the 1:1 mentorship package.

Certification with integrity.
Somatic Recoding™ is a body-based educational and somatic practice. It is not a replacement for medical care, psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, physical therapy, or licensed healthcare.
Certified practitioners are expected to work within their training, legal scope, lived capacity, and professional background. Practitioners must refer clients to licensed medical, mental health, or therapeutic professionals when appropriate.
Our certification process exists to protect the integrity of the work, the safety of clients, and the development of practitioners.

Somatic Recoding™ is a living body of work. As the method develops, our training standards, assessment process, practitioner requirements, badge usage guidelines, directory eligibility, and certification pathways may evolve.
Somatic Recoding™ reserves the right to update, refine, expand, or adjust certification requirements at any time. This may include changes to required practice sessions, case study requirements, mentorship requirements, session review requirements, assessment criteria, renewal requirements, practitioner privileges, directory listing standards, advanced training prerequisites, and teacher training eligibility.
Any updates will be made in service of practitioner development, client safety, ethical integrity, and the quality of the Somatic Recoding™ method.
